about RJS Consultants

A brief History

RJS Consultants are based in Watford, Hertfordshire with a satellite  office in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. 

Founded in 2003 by Nigel Shapiro, we provide computer and technology services to micro and small businesses (those with fewer than 25 staff) who do not have their own IT staff, and to home workers and home users.

These services include everything from the simple “Help, it’s not working” through remote support services, technology purchase, ongoing virus protection, email and web hosting, backup services to project management and vendor liaison services.

Over the years we have formed strong relationships with many technology vendors (software, hardware and network), enabling us to successfully liaise with them to achieve the best possible results that individual clients may not realise are available.

Nigel Shapiro founded RJS Consultants in 2003. Having worked in small and large companies, working his way up through many levels in technology over 25 years, he became aware after a conversation with a colleague that small companies were struggling to get the support that they needed to use technology effectively. Another friend suggested that Nigel could fill that void and RJS Consultants was born.

Prior to 2003, Nigel had spent 6 years at Aspect Communications, covering diverse roles as a Senior Manager and then IT Director including Infrastructure/Operations Management, creating and then managing a Global Programme Office, and then Global Vendor Relations.

Prior to Aspect, Nigel worked for over 12 years at EDS as a Senior Consultant and Senior Manager, dealing with Application Development, Programme Management, Infrastructure Management and Vendor Relationships, with major clients including London Buses, CAA, Unilever and GMAC.

Danny Hall came to RJS Consultants as a trainee HelpDesk Engineer, and now after 6 years, leads it very successfully.

He is admired by our clients for the patience and tenacity that he shows, refusing to be beaten by the wiles of Microsoft and other vendors who keep giving our clients challenges to overcome.
